Funding a monthly play session for Incredible Kids

The Incredible Kids charity needs no introduction. The work they do is incredible. And the kids they support are incredible too. So, this month, we were delighted to be able to give the charity a grant to fund one of their Saturday family play sessions each month.

Incredible Kids’ family play sessions give children with additional needs the chance to play, have fun and make friends. Every Saturday, their team of playworkers welcome young people aged 0 – 25 for physical activities, chilling in the sensory room as well as an array of sports and crafts. The sessions also provide much-needed respite for family members and carers who can enjoy a short break and a cuppa with like-minded families.

Each family play session costs £800 to run so we are thrilled to be able to fund an entire session once per month. The grant of £800 per month covers venue hire, staff costs, refreshments and materials as well as contributing to a sinking fund to replace any broken toys and equipment.

Speaking to the Trustees

Stephanie Shipley, a trustee for the Sarah Jayne Charitable Trust explains the importance of supporting Incredible Kids:

“Family is the heart of the SJCT, so it’s an honour to support a charity that has not only been a much needed crutch for my family, but for hundreds more who need support, a listening ear and a fun place to go where the children can play freely, knowing they will not be judged.”

We visited Incredible Kids to see the work they do and hand over the cheque and we were humbled by what it meant to founder and trustee Jenny Prewett and her team:

“The donation from The Sarah Jayne Charitable Trust will mean Incredible Kids can guarantee support to disabled children and their families on a Saturday for the next year. We are extremely grateful for the donation and the additional practical support the charity have provided to us. The trustees have taken a close interest in the work we do, visiting our site and even helping to set up our Christmas party.”

The most wonderful time of the year

Their Christmas party was definitely a highlight of our Christmas last year and we are hoping to get involved again this year. With your help, we’d love to fund more parties throughout the year to bring smiles and joy to these incredible kids. And a sprinkle of respite for their families too.

To support Incredible Kids and the Sarah Jayne Charitable Trust, donate now or set-up a regular gift.
